Evaluating current literacy ability is crucial to finding out what your child's specific needs are. Each Orton-Gillingham journey starts with an evaluation with you and your child.
During this initial time together, I explain how I use the Orton-Gillingham approach, so you can better understand what is happening in the brain and what is needed to provide support.
After this evaluation, you will receive a carefully crafted and detailed report along with a targeted plan for your child's literacy journey with Orton Works. From this initial conversation and moving forward, every aspect is tailored and personalized to help your child succeed. This individualization is the main technique that guides Orton-Gillingham instruction.
Orton Works offers both online and in-person Orton-Gillingham tutoring. In-person sessions are available for students in the Cincinnati, Ohio area. Our office is located at 1776 Mentor Avenue in Norwood, Ohio. Orton Works also partners with several private schools in the area, allowing tutoring sessions to take place during the school day at the student’s school.
